More information about acceptable forms of financial support may be found on the Financial Documentation Requirements page.

Students may show funding from multiple sources and may submit as many documents as necessary to document adequate funds from all sources of support.

Important to note: Bank documents may show funds in any currency (USD not required) as long as the currency used is clearly indicated on the document. Financial statements from family members or other personal sponsors must be accompanied by the Affidavit of Financial Support form.

Any student offered funding from UNC-Chapel Hill must submit a copy of a signed award letter on university letterhead including all details of the award.  If the award is a graduate teaching or research assistantship, the student must also request that a Student Services Manager or other academic program representative complete a Certification of University Funding form.  The academic department representative should send an electronic copy of the completed form to the student so he or she can upload the document in the ISSS Portal.

All documents must be uploaded in PDF, JPEG, or PNG format.
