If you are employed by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC) while on Optional Practical Training (OPT), you should check-in with International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS).

To complete check-in with ISSS, please email the following documents to isss@unc.edu.

Check-in requires original immigration documents:

• Current Passport
• I-94 record (retrievable from the CBP website after arrival to the U.S. https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/#/home)
• F-1 visa and admission stamp from most recent entry to U.S.
• I-20 form
• EAD card
• Receipt Notice from STEM filing (if STEM EAD has not yet been received)

You will also complete a form during check in, including your contact information, emergency contact information, and immigration history.

You should seek primary advising about OPT from a Designated School Official (DSO) from the institution that issued your Form I-20.
