Thank you for your interest in attending UNC–Chapel Hill and welcome from International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS)!
International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) assists admitted international students in the process of acquiring the necessary immigration documents to begin their program at UNC-Chapel Hill. We advise all students in F-1 and J-1 status regarding the regulatory immigration requirements throughout their time at UNC.
The ISSS office does not handle university admissions. For questions related to admissions, please contact the appropriate office or academic department directly.
All admitted international students (students who are not U.S. Citizens or U.S. Permanent Residents) should review the steps outlined in the lefthand menu for detailed instructions on providing information to ISSS about their current immigration status and/or initiating the process to request a Form I-20 or DS-2019, as well as preparing for arrival to the U.S. and North Carolina.
