Pre-Arrival Session: Introduction to Academic Writing at UNC (Undergraduate Students)

Dr. Gigi Taylor, Senior English Language Specialist in The Writing Center, will be leading this workshop to introduce incoming undergraduate students to common forms of university-level writing in the United States. Participants will explore resources and strategies that can help them navigate disciplinary writing differences and successfully complete their assignments. Participants will also discuss how the concept of plagiarism might differ in their home country and at UNC, and they will learn strategies for avoiding plagiarism in their writing. Are you interested in attending? This event is open to incoming first-year and transfer undergraduate students. Please note this session will not review enrollment requirements or provide instruction on course registration. Students will register for classes during the New Student Orientation session with New Student and Family Programs (NSFP).
