Pre-Arrival Session: Introduction to Academic Writing at UNC (Graduate Students)

Dr. Warren Christian, English Language Specialist in The Writing Center, will be leading this workshop to introduce incoming graduate students to common forms of university-level writing in the United States. Participants will explore resources and strategies that can help them navigate disciplinary writing differences and successfully complete their assignments. Participants will also discuss how the concept of plagiarism might differ in their home country and at UNC, and they will learn strategies for avoiding plagiarism in their writing.
