How to Overcome Challenges and Thrive in a New Culture: A Conversation with UNC’s Clinical Psychology Students and Scholars

August 25, 2017 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Studying at UNC as an international student can be exciting and filled with new cultural and academic experiences. However, the transition to life here also often comes with challenges, such as leaving family behind, communicating in a second language, or making a whole new set of friends. These experiences can sometimes feel isolating and discouraging, and may interfere with our ability to make the most of our time at UNC.

If this sounds familiar to you, we are here to help! We are a group of international graduate students and scholars working at the clinical psychology department at UNC, and we invite you to join us for an interactive one-hour discussion session. This session will be a safe space to explore some of the challenges of adjusting to life at UNC, share techniques we have found to be helpful, and review useful resources on campus. We will also discuss some effective tools for coping and adjusting to college life that are based in clinical science. The session is FREE, and we will keep things shared during the session confidential.

Light refreshments will be provided.

Here are the details for the event:
