Past Recipients
In 1975, the UNC-Chapel Hill Class of 1938 selected the first two students to benefit from its extraordinary gift to its alma mater. Three decades later, the Class of 1938 Endowment has touched the lives of over 150 students. Class of 1938 fellows have visited over 60 countries, pursued projects and interests in everything from music to geology, and begun to develop an understanding of planet Earth’s wonderful and infinite diversity.
During this time, the fellows have also begun to fulfill another part of the vision of the Class of 1938: that recipients of the gift and members of the Class of 1938 Endowment Committee keep their dream alive by upholding the spirit and intent of the Class of 1938 Endowment, fostering a spirit of commitment and cooperation among current and future Endowment Committee members, and making it possible for their gift to touch other lives as profoundly as it has touched those of the recipients.
