The U.S. announced yesterday that it is suspending entry to the U.S. for 30 days for individuals that “any point during the 14 days prior to their scheduled arrival” have been in the European countries that comprise the Schengen Area.  This restriction goes into effect starting on Friday, March 13, 2020 at 11:59pm eastern standard time.   For more information, please see the Presidential Proclamation.

In addition, the U.S. Embassy and Consulates in Italy stated they would only be open for emergency American Citizen Services and emergency visa services only.
